Neither useful nor in use - Wikipedia shortcuts are routinely spelled in all capitals, so it's implausible that anyone would use this redirect. — kashmīrī TALK 18:36, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That may be the better approach, doing so. Glad to see at least one person used the old redirect, although using WP:COLONTRICK may not capture the total uses.--☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 21:58, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

R from catchphase created by a sockmaster, featuring a phrase not mentioned at the target article. Utopes (talk / cont) 16:29, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator note: This is a continuation of a previous set of "redirects from catchphrases". Three of these were nominated a month ago, all deleted: Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2023 October 4#Trouble with the trolley, eh?. These titles are all generally shorter in length than those three, but still just as unmentioned and created by the same user. Utopes (talk / cont) 16:32, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The use of the word "my" and the fact that neither the title of the redirect not the target are subjects with proper names makes this redirect seem like it claims ownership in some way, or that someone is looking up this term to literally find information about their pet pig (which seems to be the case per the article hiding in the edit history of this redirect). From my research this appears to more so refer to a water dissolvable paper. I had been unable to find anything that had it refer to the Water data page. TartarTorte 22:36, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

After the explanation below by the creator, definitely delete. We should not be fabricating abbreviations in mainspace for titles that include Wikipedia disambiguator terms. Mdewman6 (talk) 15:51, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Keep [if that is my vote as the author matters] It's short for "H2O (Data Page)", I created it and the SEPDP redirect to Standard Electrode Potential (Data Page) because I felt that the long names were only worsened by "(data page)". I request that they be kept unless there is some policy that would forbid/discourage the existence of these redirects, in which case I will not attempt to stop the process. JGHFunRun (talk) 03:31, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
(well actually rereading that, "water" is a short name but I still felt the length of "Water (Data Page)" warranted the creating of the H2ODP redirect) JGHFunRun (talk) 03:33, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If these are supposed to be SHORTCUTs, they are in the wrong namespace, and should be WP:H2ODP and WP:SEPDP as they aren't valid search terms or alternate names with the real world usage -- 65.92.247.90 (talk) 06:51, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete WP:ORIGINALRESEARCH and also delete SEPDP. as they are neologistic protologisms invented on Wikipedia in articlespace, and not shortcuts in projectspace. -- 65.92.244.127 (talk) 03:40, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - WP:OR and WP:NEO are for writing articles, not creating redirects, and have no significance or relevance in determining if a redirect is valid. Really, redirecting neolgisms to existing terms should be highly encouraged as it will reduce their creation as pages. The question for redirects is whether it obstructs search finding relevant information or facilitates information being retrieved. WP:CHEAP While I'm not sure about custom abbreviations... these redirects do get low but steady hits over the last 90 days. So the argument is literally reduce at least one user's regular navigation experience for... no articulated gain or improvement. - Darker Dreams (talk) 06:59, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • They should exist as valid search terms. If they do not exist outside of Wikipedia. There is no such topic as "Water (data page)" in the real world outside of Wikipedia, it is just a subpage of the topic "Water". Similarly for SEP's data page. That isn't something that exists outside of Wikipedia, so doesn't have a valid abbreviated search term that would be understandable to the general readership. These fail WP:RDELETE #2 and #5. As others have mentioned these have real world uses for other topics outside of Wikipedia. They suggest that such topics exist on Wikipedia, when the don't, and the target of the redirect isn't a topic, rather just a subpage of extended content where the nominal topic cannot be addressed by the redirect -- 65.92.244.127 (talk) 03:52, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep per "someone finds it useful", as evidenced by JGHFunRun's comments. Nobody has suggested that "H2ODP" has any other competing usage; D2 doesn't apply (there's nothing for this to be confused with) and neither does D5 (it's not nonsensical to target a page from an obvious initialism). D8 might apply but I say K5 overrules it. All the same goes for SEPDP. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 18:59, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It seems to refer to water dissolvable paper. It doesn't seem like we have an article on that, but given that its more common usage is to refer to something else it could lead to WP:SURPRISE. TartarTorte 20:23, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, it's used in the name or part number of a variety of commercial water-soluble or water-dissolvable paper products, such as [1]. There doesn't seem to be a suitable target for that on Wikipedia, and I'm not having much luck finding sources that could be used to write an article (most are manufacturer press releases and industry blogs about specific products), so this doesn't seem to be a good candidate for an article. The article wouldn't be at this title, anyway. It has its current use now, and if an article is written at some point in the future, we can revisit the redirect then. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 15:00, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We just deleted redirects to Venus geography and geodynamics for creative invention of terms, when they made sense from a grammatical point of view, so these redirects to Data Pages don't have that kind of grammatical heft. As one of those terms were used outside of Wikipedia, it would seem to have a much better case for existing than these datapage redirects. -- 65.92.244.127 (talk) 11:58, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Based on the history, this was originally an article that violated WP policies, leading to it becoming a redirect. Given that it was not conceived as a redirect in the first place, the lack of value of the edit history, and the overly specific title for the much more general target article, I recommend deletion. The result of the discussion was speedy retarget to Where The Angels Fall. I'm closing this discussion early because there is no chance it will result in any other outcome. Redirects from plausible alternative capitalizations are almost always acceptable. (non-admin closure) Dsuke1998AEOS (talk) 02:07, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Where the Angels Fall is an album by The Cat Empire. Currently, "Where the Angels Fall" (note the uncapitalised "the") redirects to the page for The Cat Empire (as in the band's article), even though the album has its own Wikipedia page now. I am of the belief that this redirect is no longer applicable. SupremeLordBagel (talk) 22:05, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
